New After-School Art Program Launches January 29 for Kids

UPDATE: A brand new after-school art program, Art Lab Thursdays, is set to launch on January 29 in Fort Worth, offering a creative sanctuary for children aged 6-12. This program promises a relaxed, inspiring environment where kids can explore their artistic abilities while building confidence and having fun.

Starting every Thursday from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, the sessions will kick off with a brief guided introduction before transitioning into open studio time. Participants will have the freedom to paint, sculpt, draw, and experiment with a variety of art materials, creating at their own pace with the support of dedicated instructors.

The initiative, led by Panther City Artists, a local nonprofit focused on inclusive and process-based art education, emphasizes creativity over competition. Organizers state that the program’s focus is on “process over perfection,” encouraging children to express themselves freely and joyfully through making art.

Parents can choose between two affordable registration options: a $25 drop-in fee for each session or a $95 monthly membership covering four Thursdays. This drop-off program is designed to provide a safe and engaging space for kids to unwind after school, making it an ideal choice for busy families.

Art Lab Thursdays will offer a diverse range of activities, including:
– Paint & mixed media
– Clay & sculpture
– Drawing & mark-making
– Collage & building materials

These sessions are not just about art; they provide children with opportunities for social interaction, personal expression, and creative exploration. As demand for engaging after-school activities continues to rise, this program is poised to make a significant impact in the community.

Don’t miss out! Registration is now open online at www.panthercityartists.org. Parents are encouraged to secure their spots quickly, as spaces are limited. With its focus on creativity and joy, Art Lab Thursdays promises to be a transformative experience for young artists in Fort Worth.

Stay tuned for more updates as the launch date approaches!
