Denver’s Dazzling Holiday Lights Display Kicks Off NOW!

UPDATE: Denver’s vibrant holiday lights are officially lighting up the city as of December 1, 2025, with numerous dazzling displays that are drawing residents and visitors alike. From private homes to stunning public spectacles, the festive spirit is palpable across the Denver metro area.

The historical significance of Christmas lights in Denver dates back to 1914 when local electrician David Dwight “D.D.” Sturgeon created a magical display to cheer up his sick son.
