Motorcyclists from Youth Night Style Community Disrupt Jakarta Traffic

Police in Jakarta apprehended multiple motorcyclists from the community known as Youth Night Style after they allegedly damaged barriers and illegally accessed the Non-Toll Flyover Casablanca. The incident, which took place on February 24, 2026, was reportedly motivated by a desire to create content for social media.

According to AKBP Ojo Ruslani, the Head of Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement at the Metro Jaya Police, the group was involved in a convoy that aimed to attract online attention. “Their motive was to create content,” Ojo stated during a press conference. The police’s investigation suggests that approximately 20 motorcyclists were engaged in this activity.

Ojo clarified that the members of Youth Night Style are not a gang but rather a community that enjoys hanging out and creating content. “They are a community that likes to create content and hang out, not a gang,” he emphasized. The police are examining circulating videos to ascertain the exact number of participants involved in the incident, which is estimated at around 20 motorcycles.

The incident highlights ongoing challenges in managing traffic and public safety in Jakarta, particularly as social media continues to influence behavior among young people. Authorities are working to address these issues by increasing surveillance and enforcement in areas known for such activities.

As the investigation unfolds, the police will continue to monitor similar incidents and take appropriate action against those who disrupt public order. The incident has sparked discussions on the intersection of social media culture and public safety, urging a re-evaluation of how such communities operate in urban environments.
