URGENT UPDATE: Kick off Thanksgiving Day with excitement at Boyertown’s 10th Annual Turkey Trot on November 27, 2023, at 8 a.m. This beloved community event, held at Boyertown Community Park, invites families and friends to participate in a 5K Run or a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk. Last year, over 900 participants joined, making it a cherished holiday tradition.
The Wellness Council of Boyertown encourages everyone to lace up their running shoes, reconnect with old friends, and enjoy a morning of healthy fun. “This event brings together those who have grown up in the Boyertown area as they come home for the holidays,” the council stated.
Awards will be distributed for the top overall male and female runners, the top three finishers in various age brackets for the 5K, the largest family, and the participant who traveled the farthest. Plus, exciting door prizes, including gift baskets and certificates to local businesses, will be available for those who pre-register. All runners will also receive a customized participation medal and race swag.
Started in memory of Clifford Reigner, a dedicated sports enthusiast and community supporter, the Turkey Trot honors his legacy in Boyertown athletics. Reigner was influential in the development of local sports programs and facilities, including the Boyertown football field.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Wellness Council is actively seeking sponsors from local businesses, nonprofits, and individuals to support this family-friendly event. All proceeds will fund community health and wellness initiatives.
Registration is open now, with fees set at $35 for the 5K and $20 for kids 12 and under. The 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk costs $25, with a fee of $20 for children. Participants can register online at https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Boyertown/BoyertownTurkeyTrot or check in at the park beginning at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
