KP Price Returns for Senior Season, Bolstering Boston College Defense

The Boston College Eagles football program received a significant boost as safety KP Price announced his return for his senior season on Saturday afternoon. Price, who has led the team in total tackles for the past two seasons, shared his decision via a tweet on X, featuring a graphic that proclaimed “He’s Not Done” alongside his jersey number, 2. In his message, Price emphasized his commitment with the phrase, “Complete the mission.”

Price was named a team captain for the first time ahead of the 2025 season. During that season, he played a pivotal role in the Eagles’ defense, starting all 12 games. His versatility was evident as he made three starts at linebacker and nine in the secondary. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, concluded the 2025 season with impressive statistics: 94 tackles (including 65 solo), three tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery. His performance earned him a spot on the All-ACC Second Team, marking his first end-of-season conference award.

In his sophomore year of 2024, Price made all 13 starts at strong safety, leading the team with 85 tackles and contributing two interceptions, two tackles for loss, and five pass break-ups. He initially made his mark as a true freshman in 2023, participating in all 13 games and starting at safety in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, where Boston College secured a victory over the then-No. 24 SMU with a score of 23-14.

Before joining Boston College, Price was a three-star recruit according to 247 Sports. He earned First-Team All-Conference honors and was recognized as a First Team All-Metro player. His high school career began at Calvert Hall College High School before he transferred to St. Frances for his senior season.

Price’s announcement comes at a crucial time for the Eagles, who have faced a mass exodus of players since the conclusion of the 2025 season. A total of 26 players from the roster have entered the transfer portal, including several key starters across both offensive and defensive positions. Notable departures include former quarterbacks Dylan Lonergan and Shaker Reisig, running back Turbo Richard, and linebackers Daveon “Bam” Crouch and Bryce Steele.

With Price’s return, the Eagles will retain a vital part of their veteran leadership as they prepare for the 2026 campaign. This season will mark the third year under head coach Bill O’Brien and the first for new defensive coordinator Ted Roof, who was appointed to the position on December 30, 2025. Price also represented the program at the 2025 ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte, North Carolina, as one of four players selected by O’Brien.

As the Boston College Eagles look to rebuild and strengthen their roster, KP Price’s decision to return promises to enhance their defensive capabilities in the upcoming season.
