Apple is poised to significantly enhance its presence in the smart home market in 2026, with plans to introduce several innovative devices that aim to compete more directly with established players like Amazon and Google. Historically, Apple’s focus in this sector has been limited primarily to its Apple TV and HomePod lines. The upcoming year appears to signal a transformative shift, as the company prepares to unveil at least four new smart home products, including two entirely new device categories.
HomePad: A New Home Hub
The most anticipated addition is the HomePad, a new home hub that could redefine how users interact with their smart devices. Expected to resemble an iPad, this device will reportedly serve as a central control point for Apple’s HomeKit, Matter, and Thread accessories. The HomePad is anticipated to feature a 7-inch square touchscreen and be powered by the A18 processor from the iPhone 16, which would enable advanced functionalities, including the highly anticipated context-aware Siri, scheduled to launch in the spring.
