Jason Eisner’s Art Exhibition at St. Ambrose Ends April 24

URGENT UPDATE: The critically acclaimed exhibition “Living Collection: Works on Paper” by artist Jason Eisner is on display at St. Ambrose University’s Morrissey Gallery until April 24. Art enthusiasts have just a few days left to experience Eisner’s latest pieces, showcasing a vibrant blend of creativity and life’s fleeting moments.

Located at 2101 Gaines Street, Davenport, IA, the gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers free admission. This exhibition captures Eisner’s artistic journey, with works that reflect his experiences in the world of art, often created during brief intervals of inspiration. Eisner states these pieces are “found out of the corner of the eye and drawn while on break, sitting in the grass,” emphasizing the spontaneous nature of his creativity.

Originally from Illinois, Eisner has made New York City his home for the past 30 years. He holds a BA from Knox College and a Painting Certificate from the New York Studio School. Currently, he serves as a Master Pruner and Horticulturalist at the renowned Green-Wood Cemetery and Arboretum in Brooklyn, where he works amidst a stunning living collection of over 8,000 trees, shrubs, and plants.

This exhibition not only highlights Eisner’s artistic talents but also poses thought-provoking questions about the nature of artistry: “When does one become an artist? When does an artist make art?” Eisner’s lifelong dedication to drawing and painting remains evident, even as his profession leads him outdoors, allowing him to blend his role as an artist with his everyday life.

With just days remaining, art lovers and the community are encouraged to visit the Morrissey Gallery to witness Eisner’s impactful works. For more details about the exhibition, call (563) 333-6444 or visit Facebook.com/CatichGallerySAU.
