Lovet Pet Health Care has announced the grand opening of its fourth veterinary clinic in West Michigan, located at 1935 Breton Road SE in Grand Rapids. The new facility follows the opening of its first hospital in the region earlier this year on April 18 at 4290 Lake Michigan Drive NW in Standale. Since then, Lovet has provided care for more than 2,200 pets and welcomed approximately 1,900 new pet owners into its network.
In addition to the Standale location, Lovet opened two more clinics in West Michigan at 3500 Alpine Ave NW in Walker and at 2135 E Beltline Ave NE in Grand Rapids since mid-October 2023. Courtney Gruber, President of Lovet Pet Health Care, noted that Grand Rapids has rapidly become one of the company’s most dynamic and expanding markets.
A recent report by Lovet, the 2025 Checkup Report, revealed that around 86% of pet owners across the United States, and 87% in Michigan, believe having a pet positively influences their mental and emotional well-being. Despite this, the report also highlighted that 44% of Michigan pet owners have postponed or forgone veterinary care due to rising costs.
Lovet Pet Health Care aims to tackle these financial challenges through various cost-saving initiatives. “That deep connection is exactly why we’re continuing to expand here: to make high-quality, compassionate veterinary care easier to access for every pet-loving family in West Michigan,” Gruber stated. The clinic offers a free first exam for all new clients, among other financial solutions designed to alleviate the burden of veterinary expenses.
The expansion not only enhances access to veterinary care but also creates job opportunities. Lovet is actively hiring veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff across its four West Michigan locations, potentially generating around 50 local jobs. As part of its commitment to community engagement, Lovet partnered with the Humane Society of West Michigan to sponsor a pet first aid tent at the recent Humane Hustle 5K & Walk. This event encouraged pet owners to build their own first aid kits, aligning with Lovet’s mission to make pet care education and preparedness more accessible for families in the region.
Originally known as AZPetVet, Lovet Pet Health Care began as a network of 23 animal hospitals in and around Phoenix, Arizona. Since then, the company has expanded to include locations in Chicago and now in Grand Rapids, demonstrating its commitment to providing quality veterinary services to communities across the United States.
