Walmart Unveils Renovated Thomasville Supercenter After Major Update

Walmart has completed a significant remodel of its Supercenter located at 15328 US Highway 19 S. in Thomasville, Georgia. This extensive renovation spans 14 weeks, transforming the 171,709-square-foot facility and enhancing the shopping experience for local customers. To commemorate the improvements, Walmart hosted a re-grand opening ceremony on November 7, 2025.

The remodel introduced several key upgrades designed to modernize the store. Notably, the number of checkout registers has increased from eight to 24, allowing for more efficient service during peak shopping times. The store manager, Andrew Katsarelis, expressed enthusiasm about the changes, stating, “The whole Supercenter looks much improved thanks to these changes, as the modernization of the store will make a huge difference for our shoppers.”

Modern Features and Upgrades

In addition to the expanded checkout options, the remodel included a complete overhaul of the fashion department, new light fixtures, and renovated flooring. The previous lighting had not been updated since the store’s opening, and the new enhancements aim to create a brighter, more inviting atmosphere.

The store now also reflects the “Store of the Future” concept, incorporating high-tech features such as QR codes and automated retrieval systems. These innovations are designed to streamline the checkout process and enhance overall customer interaction with the store. A fresh paint scheme and updated signage contribute to the store’s modern aesthetic, while the electronics department has received a comprehensive update to align with contemporary retail trends.

As part of the remodel, a new Dunkin’ has also been added to the store, providing customers with additional options for dining and refreshments.

Walmart’s Commitment to Upgrades

This renovation is part of Walmart’s broader strategy to remodel over 650 stores across the United States in 2025, with 20 of those projects located in Georgia. Over the past five years, Walmart has invested more than $1.1 billion to upgrade its stores throughout the state. Currently, Walmart operates 209 retail locations and 13 supply chain facilities in Georgia, employing over 65,000 associates.
