Quantic Dream Launches Closed Beta for Spellcasters Chronicles

Quantic Dream is set to launch a closed beta weekend for its upcoming action MOBA, Spellcasters Chronicles, providing a select group of players the opportunity to experience the game from December 4, 2023, at 15:00 UTC until December 8, 2023, at 09:00 UTC. This event will allow players from Europe and North America to engage in thrilling battles against both opposing teams and mythical creatures in a bid for map dominance.

The game pits teams of three against each other while facing waves of grunts and extraordinary beasts. Players will have the chance to select from six unique spellcasters: two Duelists, the Swamp Witch and the Astral Monk; two Conquerers, the Iron Sorcerer and the Fire Elementalist; and two Enchanters, the Mystic Scribe and the Stone Shaman. Each character comes equipped with a diverse array of decks, expendable summons, and various abilities. Players will also have access to an ultimate ability that builds throughout gameplay, culminating in the summoning of a titan, a colossal creature capable of devastating destruction.

Game Development Insights from Quantic Dream

According to Gregorie Diaconu, the game director of Spellcasters Chronicles, the development team has designed the game to focus on adaptation, creativity, and teamwork. “We built Spellcasters Chronicles as a game that thrives on adaptation, creativity, and team synergy, and that only truly comes to life once players get their hands on it,” Diaconu stated. He expressed that the launch of the beta servers is an exciting milestone for the team, marking the beginning of a collaborative dialogue with players.

Players interested in participating in the closed beta can sign up via the game’s Steam page or the official website. While not all applicants will gain access to this initial testing phase, those who do not receive an invitation will still be eligible for future betas.

“This closed beta will help the studio refine the game through player feedback,” a press release emphasized. Quantic Dream plans to host a second closed beta early next year, which will introduce expanded content, additional spellcasters, new arenas, incantations, and summons. Each phase of testing aims to enhance gameplay features and further develop the community-driven narrative at the heart of Spellcasters Chronicles.

As the gaming community eagerly anticipates this new title, players are encouraged to stay informed about updates and further opportunities to engage with the game as it progresses toward early access.
