The Cleveland Jewish News will celebrate the achievements of 18 distinguished community members at the upcoming 2025 Cleveland Jewish News 18 Difference Makers reception and awards ceremony. Scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on December 11, 2025, the event will take place at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

This year’s gala marks the 10th anniversary of the Difference Makers recognition, which honors individuals for their significant contributions to the Jewish community and beyond. Among the honorees is Erika Gold, a Holocaust survivor who will receive the Sam Miller Lifetime Achievement Award. At 93 years old, Gold has dedicated decades to sharing her story with schools and community organizations, inspiring many with her resilience and commitment to education.

In addition, Lee Fisher, president of Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, will be honored with the Civic Leadership Award. The Generation Award will be presented to the Wain family, comprising Beth Wain Brandon, Amy Wain, Cathy Stamler, and David Wain. This award acknowledges their family’s legacy of leadership and community engagement. Their late father, Norman Wain, was a prominent radio station owner and a devoted community leader, known for his influential role with the Cleveland Jewish Publication Company.

“Each of this year’s honorees embodies the spirit of leadership, resilience, and community that the Cleveland Jewish News is proud to celebrate,” said Kevin S. Adelstein, publisher and CEO of the Cleveland Jewish News. He emphasized the importance of recognizing those who contribute to the betterment of the community.
