Prairie Rose 4-H Members Honored at Achievement Banquet

Members of the Prairie Rose 4-H club were recognized for their accomplishments during an Achievement Banquet held on November 10, 2023, at the cafeteria of Iola High School. The event, which celebrated the hard work and dedication of its members, featured awards for outstanding contributions throughout the year.

The banquet was generously sponsored by Emprise Bank, which provided the meals for all attendees. Several members received accolades for their exemplary record-keeping and contributions to the club. Kason Botts was awarded the Top Secretary’s book, while Kylar Botts received the Top Historian’s book. Lucas Owens earned the Top Reporter’s book, showcasing the club’s commitment to documentation and communication.

In addition to individual awards, the club achieved a Purple seal during the year, highlighting its overall excellence. Members also participated in community-building activities, including a Bring-A-Friend Game Night as part of their monthly meeting. This initiative encouraged engagement and camaraderie among both current and prospective members.

The Prairie Rose 4-H club also made a significant contribution to the local community by organizing a food drive for the Moran Food Pantry. During this initiative, members collected canned goods to support those in need. The effort was a testament to the club’s commitment to community service and fostering a spirit of giving among its members.

The members who participated in the food drive included, from the front row: Hudson Gabbert, Harper Gabbert, Colt Dudley, Edward Meiwes, Wade Meiwes, and Henry Gabbert. In the second row were Molly Chenowith, Andrew Chenowith, Declan Chenowith, Lucas Owens, Brynleigh Borth, Sophia Heim, Kylar Botts, Kason Botts, and Doug Dix.

The Achievement Banquet served not only as a celebration of past efforts but also as an inspiration for future initiatives. With strong community ties and an emphasis on personal development, the Prairie Rose 4-H club continues to cultivate leadership and service among its members.
