BREAKING: Charlotte M. Seim, a cherished matriarch and community member from Guilderland, NY, has passed away at the age of 89. Her family confirmed her death on November 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, humor, and dedication to her family and community.
Born on February 26, 1936, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Clyde and Jennie (Travis) Woodard. She had a long and fulfilling career at Travelers Insurance Company, where she not only found professional success but also met her late husband, William R. Seim.
Charlotte was known for her vibrant personality and her deep love for family. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, making every moment spent with them special. Her passion for walking often took her to local shopping venues and craft fairs, where her infectious sense of humor made her a beloved figure among friends and fellow community members.
Residents of the Baptist community will remember her fondly, as she frequently visited and engaged with others, participating in crafts and activities that brightened the lives of those around her. Her family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Baptist Health and Community Hospice for their compassionate care, especially Brittany and her dedicated team.
Charlotte is survived by her children: Donna (Ronald) Healt, William (Debra) Eggleston III, Richard (Cheryl) Eggleston, Michael (Rose) Eggleston, and Guy (Susan Jacobson) Eggleston. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband, William Eggleston Jr., her grandson, Ryan Healt, and her siblings.
In a statement, the family highlighted Charlotte’s indomitable spirit and her ability to connect with everyone she met, saying:
“She lived for her family and brought joy to all our lives.”
The community is invited to pay their respects during visitation on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m., following a gathering at the funeral home starting at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland.
