URGENT UPDATE: The highly anticipated Veterans Day Parade is confirmed to take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. in downtown Uniontown. Hosted by the American Legion LaFayette Post 51, the event promises to be a heartfelt tribute to those who have served in the military.
Marchers will gather starting at 9 a.m., staging on East Church Street between Marshall Park and Marshall Manor. The parade will make a significant stop at Storey Square at 11:11 a.m., where taps will be played to honor veterans.
Participants include marching bands and Junior ROTC members. Buses will drop off these groups at the parking lot of St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 50 Jefferson St. After the parade, students can be picked up in the parking lot of St. Mary (Nativity) Church at 61 N. Mount Vernon Ave.
All marching bands will form their lineup between Marshall Park and Marshall Manor, while Junior ROTC members will stage in the parking lot of the Uniontown Public Library. Fire and rescue vehicles will line up on Iowa Street. Other organizations are requested to form three lanes on East Church Street or East South Street.
Veterans wishing to participate in the parade are encouraged to meet in Marshall Park. Please note that no all-terrain vehicles or side-by-sides are allowed without prior permission from the Uniontown Police Department, and no political messaging will be permitted during the event.
