The Port Arthur Beautification Commission is preparing for the annual Keep Port Arthur Beautiful Fall Sweep on November 1, 2025. This community-wide cleanup invites residents to come together and enhance the city’s environment through collective effort. The event will kick off at 7:30 a.m. with sign-in at the Pavilion, located at 500 Procter St., where volunteers can enjoy a complimentary breakfast that includes coffee, juice, and Chick-fil-A breakfast sandwiches.
Participants will receive cleanup tools and T-shirts, available while supplies last, before heading out to focus on four designated areas: the Pavilion, Rose Hill Park, Barbara Jacquet Park (Gilliam Circle), and Memorial Boulevard, between 26th and 39th Streets. After completing the cleanup, volunteers are invited back to the Pavilion for lunch, where they can celebrate their efforts and the positive impact made throughout the day.
Under the leadership of Clayton Clark, Port Arthur has recently achieved the Gold Star Affiliate designation from Keep Texas Beautiful, the highest honor awarded by the organization. This recognition underscores the city’s commitment to enhancing community pride, sustainability, and civic engagement.
Pastor Wanda L. Bodden, a Beautification Commissioner, highlighted that the Fall Sweep represents more than just a cleanup; it is an investment in the future of Port Arthur. “Our vision is to make Port Arthur a beacon of community pride,” Bodden stated. “We want our youth to see this as a place worth returning to and a city that attracts new businesses and families.”
Bodden emphasized the significance of collaboration among residents, city departments, and local organizations to maintain Port Arthur’s growing reputation for cleanliness and active community participation. She urged volunteers to RSVP by October 30 to ensure sufficient food and supplies for all participants.
“Let’s bring back the glory,” Bodden said. “Together, we can make Port Arthur a safe, thriving, and beautiful community for everyone.” This event not only aims to beautify the city but also fosters a sense of unity and commitment among its residents.
