The victim, whose identity remains withheld pending family notification, was hit by a westbound 2008 Mercedes Benz ML350 driven by Clarissa Macioce, a 50-year-old St. James resident. Emergency responders rushed the man to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
