De Mujer a Mujer Opens Nominations for Annual Awards Celebration

The De Mujer a Mujer program, an initiative of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), is now accepting nominations for its seventh annual De Mujer a Mujer Awards. These awards aim to celebrate the achievements and diversity of women in Berks County and the surrounding Greater Reading area. The awards ceremony is scheduled for June 11, 2024, marking an important event for the community.

Community members are encouraged to submit nominations for three distinct categories: the Community Impact Award, the Young Changemaker Award, and the Small Business Owner Award. Each award recognizes individuals for their exceptional contributions and influence within the community.

Nomination Categories and Criteria

The Community Impact Award honors a woman whose dedication to service and leadership has created a lasting difference in the community. The Young Changemaker Award celebrates young women aged 18 to 25 who are already making significant impacts and demonstrating strong leadership potential. Lastly, the Small Business Owner Award recognizes an entrepreneur whose business success and community involvement are contributing to a vibrant local economy.

Nominations must be submitted by May 1, 2024, through the online nomination form available at www.greaterreading.org/2026mujerawards. This form requires nominators to provide details about the nominee, including contact information, job title, and achievements over the past two years.

A Celebration of Leadership and Financial Empowerment

In addition to awarding outstanding women, this year’s event will feature presentations by Abigail Torres and Michelle Leguisamon from Finanta. They will share insights and practical guidance on enhancing financial literacy and making informed money decisions, aimed at fostering long-term stability for attendees.

The De Mujer a Mujer program serves as a catalyst for developing women leaders and connecting individuals from diverse backgrounds. It provides a platform for women to network, share ideas, and mentor one another. The GRCA emphasizes that the initiative not only recognizes achievements but also promotes personal growth and empowerment among women in the community.

Nominators are invited to include supporting documents such as articles or testimonials with their nomination forms. A selection committee comprised of community leaders will review all submissions, and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.

For any inquiries regarding the nomination process, individuals can contact Jackie Stiles at [email protected] or call 610-898-7785. This celebration promises to be a significant event, highlighting the remarkable impact of women in Berks County.
