Missouri S&T Winter Band Concert Promises Global Musical Journey

The Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is set to host its winter band concert on February 22, 2024. The performance will take place at 14:00 in the Leach Theatre, located within Castleman Hall at the intersection of 10th and Main Street on the Missouri S&T campus.

Under the direction of Dr. David Samson, an assistant professor of music at Missouri S&T, the concert will feature the University Wind Symphony. Dr. Samson expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming performance, stating, “The University Wind Symphony is excited to share this program of music inspired from around the world. We’ll take you on a musical journey to Russia, Japan, England and back home to America.”

In addition to the Wind Symphony, the concert will showcase two talented student-led ensembles: the Movie Music Ensemble and the Saxophone Choir. This collaboration highlights the diverse musical talent within the university’s music department.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $5 for the general public and are free for youth aged 18 and under as well as Missouri S&T students who present a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at the Leach Theatre Box Office from 11:00 to 16:00, Monday through Friday. The box office is located at the main entrance of Castleman Hall, facing 10th Street.
