Washington County Announces Winners of Snowplow Naming Contest

The winners of Washington County’s third annual “Name a Snowplow” contest have been revealed, showcasing community engagement in an innovative way. The contest attracted over 2,600 votes, with the top two entries being Duck Duck Orange Truck and Blizzard of Oz, receiving 873 votes and 795 votes, respectively.

Community Involvement and Finalists

The contest generated significant interest, with more than 1,400 names submitted for consideration. After reviewing the entries, the Washington County Department of Public Works narrowed the list down to ten finalists. Alongside the winning names, the other contenders included Kirill the Chill, Slick Seven, 67, Life of a Snowgirl, Plowasaurus Rex, Chuck the Plow Truck, K Pop Blizzard Hunter, and Claire D. Way.

According to Brian Kaufenberg, a spokesman for the county, the selected snowplows will be allocated to different areas within Washington County. Blizzard of Oz will primarily operate in the northern half, while Duck Duck Orange Truck will be stationed in the southern region.
