Annie, a member of the co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT, recently addressed fans regarding the leak of her university email address during a live broadcast on January 24, 2024. The event, titled “Study With Me,” allowed Annie to engage with fans while she worked on her assignments. However, the situation took a turn as she revealed that messages from fans were overwhelming her academic communications.
While studying, Annie expressed her concern about the ease with which fans could access her school email. She stated, “Honestly, I know it’s really easy to find my school ID. But if you send emails to my school email address, it becomes difficult for me to find emails from my professors or important messages sent by the school.” Her earnest plea highlighted the confusion created by the influx of messages, which were mostly filled with kind words from her supporters.
In her address, Annie kindly requested that fans refrain from using her academic email for personal messages. She encouraged them to use the Dayoff app or other platforms for communication, emphasizing, “If you have something you want to say to me, please write it on Dayoff or anywhere else where I can read it.” This approach aims to streamline her academic correspondence while maintaining her connection with fans.
Annie concluded her message on a light-hearted note, mentioning, “Knowing my school email means knowing my school schedule too. If you see me at school and greet me, I’ll greet you back.” She acknowledged that while she enjoys interacting with fans, there may be times when she is preoccupied with her studies. Furthermore, she humorously added, “If you want to see me, just study hard to get into Columbia University.”
Annie is currently pursuing a major in art history and visual arts at the prestigious Ivy League institution and recently resumed her studies after taking a leave of absence. Her educational journey is noteworthy, especially considering her family background; she is the granddaughter of Shinsegae Group‘s executive chairwoman.
As Annie continues her studies through the spring semester, the other members of ALLDAY PROJECT are planning to engage in various individual activities to minimize the group’s hiatus. This proactive approach allows the group to maintain visibility while supporting Annie in her academic pursuits.
The situation underscores the challenges faced by public figures in managing personal and professional boundaries, particularly in the age of social media. Annie’s candid communication reflects her awareness of the balance needed to navigate her dual roles as an artist and a student.
