BREAKING: Mary A. Yurasits, a beloved member of the Northampton community, has passed away at the age of 94. She died peacefully on January 12, 2026, at Fellowship Community in Whitehall, leaving behind a legacy of love and family.
Born on November 6, 1931, in Kreidersville, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Loikits) Stutzenberger. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, who passed away in 2024. Mary was a proud graduate of Northampton High School, where she participated in the high school’s Eight Balls and developed lifelong friendships.
Mary dedicated many years of her life to serving as a secretary at the Novagratz Tax Office, becoming a familiar face in the community. Her faith was paramount, as she was a devoted member of the Queenship of Mary Catholic Church in Northampton.
She is survived by her daughters, Lorene Kahler and husband Randy, Rochelle Reice and husband Richard, Sharon Urbanczuk and husband Roman, and her son, Gary Yurasits and wife Sherri. Mary leaves behind a large family, including 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Her son John, two grandchildren, and a nephew also preceded her in death.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Calling hours will take place on Saturday, January 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, located at 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the church, with interment at the parish cemetery.
