Ty Birdwell, a dedicated father and passionate motocross racer, passed away on November 19, 2025, at his home in Chehalis, Washington. He was 53 years old. Born in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, Ty grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where he developed a love for the outdoors and competitive sports.
After graduating from Port Angeles High School, Ty pursued his passion for motocross racing, traveling across the country to compete. His talent and determination in the sport were remarkable, earning him respect among peers and fans alike.
Beyond racing, Ty had a successful career in land development, showcasing his vision and skill in transforming properties. His work was marked by a commitment to quality and an eye for innovation, contributing positively to the communities he served.
However, Ty’s most profound joy came from being a father. He was a devoted parent to his son, Racyn Birdwell, whom he shared with Holly Weitz Birdwell. Ty’s love for Racyn was evident in everything he did, and their bond was a source of pride and fulfillment in his life.
Alongside his responsibilities as a father, Ty enjoyed various outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, and camping. His adventurous spirit and sense of humor brought people together, whether through shared laughter or cooking with family and friends. He was not only a loving father but also a cherished brother, son, uncle, and friend to many.
Ty is survived by his son Racyn, his mother Ruth Birdwell, his sister Staci Barcott and brother-in-law Jeff Barcott, his brother Keith Birdwell and sister-in-law Lorinne Birdwell, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Birdwell, and his sister, Jill Birdwell.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Ty Birdwell will take place on February 14, 2026, at Jesters Car Museum in Chehalis, Washington, starting at 14:00. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of a man who touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering faith.
