David N. Daniels, Beloved Coach and Mentor, Passes Away at 86

Born on February 19, 1939, in Middletown, Daniels dedicated over three decades to the University of Connecticut Hartford Division as a respected baseball coach and Athletic Director. His influence extended far beyond the field; he was a passionate advocate for youth sports, impacting generations through his coaching and guidance.

Following his retirement in 1998, he continued to make a difference. Daniels volunteered for over 20 years with the Enfield Fish & Wildlife organization, embodying his love for the outdoors through activities like hunting and fishing. He also contributed his time as an umpire for local softball leagues and served as a baseball referee, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the community.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Daniels, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. He leaves behind a large family: his children, Tracey Stankiewicz, Scott Daniels, Tammy Arthurs, Heather Rounbehler, Stephen Clapp, and Tracey Bonanni, along with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His sister, Diane Mahoney, and her husband John also survive him.
