Longmont Man, 34, Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Main Street

URGENT UPDATE: A 34-year-old Longmont man was tragically killed while crossing Main Street on Thursday evening. The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. in the 1600 block of Main Street, prompting a rapid response from local authorities.

According to police spokesperson Rogelio Mares, the man was crossing from east to west when he was struck by a vehicle traveling south in the outside lane. Officers arrived on the scene within seconds, providing immediate medical assistance to the victim.

Despite swift efforts, the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver, a resident of Longmont, remained on the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, Mares confirmed.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and as of now, no charges have been filed against the driver. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is set to release the identity of the deceased man following notification of his family.
