UPDATE: Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon has reached a significant milestone, scoring his 400th NHL goal just moments ago against the St. Louis Blues and their goaltender Jordan Binnington. MacKinnon netted the historic goal at 3:13 PM in the first period, quickly following it up with his 401st goal at 4:39 PM.
This achievement places MacKinnon among the elite, making him the third player in Avalanche history to hit the 400-goal mark, joining legends Joe Sakic (625 goals) and Michael Goulet (456 goals). Remarkably, MacKinnon has already surpassed Sakic’s franchise record of 391 goals since the team relocated to Denver.
With a stellar performance this season, MacKinnon leads the NHL with 34 goals and is second in points, trailing only Connor McDavid of Edmonton. Last season, he achieved a career-high with 51 goals and 140 points, solidifying his status as a top contender for the 2024 NHL MVP.
