UPDATE: Bagaduce Music has just announced the launch of its highly anticipated Second Wednesday House Concert Series, set to kick off on January 14, 2026, featuring the beloved Gawler Family Band. This new monthly music series promises to energize midweek routines in Blue Hill with an engaging blend of community spirit and outstanding musical performances.
This fresh initiative aims to make high-quality music accessible and affordable, offering tickets priced lower than Bagaduce’s weekend concerts. The series is designed to attract audiences looking for a vibrant and enjoyable way to experience live music without the weekend rush.
Each concert evening will unfold as a full musical experience. From 5–6 p.m., attendees can participate in Bagaduce Music’s regular Free Guided Jam, welcoming musicians of all skill levels. Following this, from 6–7:30 p.m., guests can purchase dinner from the Conscious Café, enhancing the night’s social atmosphere.
The highlight of the evening, set for 7:30 p.m., will be the Gawler Family Band’s performance. Known for their joyful and energetic music, the band consists of master fiddlers John and Ellen Gawler, along with their talented daughters Molly, Edith, and Elsie, and fellow musicians Bennett Konesni and Ethan Tischler. Their diverse repertoire ranges from lively Downeast-style dance tunes to heartfelt ballads, ensuring a rich and memorable experience for all attendees.
The Gawlers are celebrated for their engaging storytelling, weaving personal anecdotes and humor into their performances, creating a unique connection with the audience. Their music is deeply rooted in the traditional sounds of Maine and the Northeast, blending Scots-Irish and French Canadian influences that resonate with local culture.
Tickets for the concert will be available at the door, with a suggested donation ranging from $15 to $30. Food will also be available for additional purchase, making it a complete evening of entertainment and community.
The concert series will be hosted at Bagaduce Music’s venue at 49 South St., Blue Hill. This initiative not only fosters a love for music but also strengthens community ties, making it a must-attend event for music lovers in the area.
