Raiders Place Brock Bowers and Jeremy Chinn on Injured Reserve

The Las Vegas Raiders have announced that tight end Brock Bowers will be placed on injured reserve, effectively ending his 2026 season. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, this decision comes ahead of the team’s matchup against the New York Giants on December 17, 2026. Bowers sustained a knee injury during Week 1 and managed to play through it for several weeks before missing three games in October.

Despite his efforts to contribute, the Raiders, currently holding a 2-13 record, have opted to shut down Bowers as they look toward the future. In his time on the field this season, Bowers recorded 64 catches for 680 yards and seven touchdowns, showcasing his potential as a valuable player.

In addition to Bowers, safety Jeremy Chinn will also be placed on injured reserve due to a back injury. Chinn has been a significant part of the Raiders’ defense, amassing 114 tackles, a sack, and two forced fumbles while starting all 15 games this season. The absence of both Bowers and Chinn is expected to hinder the Raiders’ chances against the Giants this week and their upcoming game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18.

With the possibility of losing out for the remainder of the season, the Raiders are positioned to secure the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. As the franchise navigates a challenging season, the focus now shifts to rebuilding and preparing for the future.
