The Mustangs recorded decisive victories over North Polk and Clarke, but faced defeats against host Woodward-Granger and Dallas Center-Grimes.
In an impressive showcase, Emma Beyer led the team with a perfect record of 4-0, while Hadley Millang secured three wins, including a rapid pin in just 11 seconds at 135 pounds. The Mustangs notched a commanding 42-23 victory over Clarke, marked by five forfeits and two wins in contested matches, showcasing the team’s strategic advantage.
The dual against North Polk was tight, concluding with a win by criteria after PCM secured six forfeit victories. Millang continued her dominance with another impressive performance, although the team struggled in contested matches, finishing 1-3.
The Mustangs faced a tougher battle against Woodward-Granger, losing 48-28. Despite three forfeits, PCM managed to claim three contested wins, including a notable 18-7 major decision by Beyer at 170 pounds. Millang’s sole win in the 60-18 loss to Dallas Center-Grimes came from a first-period fall, but the team was unable to overcome the challenge, finishing 1-7 in contested matches.
