Scottish primary schools have reported their performance data for 2025, revealing the impressive achievements of 12 schools in Airdrie. These institutions excelled in a range of subjects, including reading, writing, numeracy, and combined listening-and-talking. The results are aggregated into a score by The Sunday Times, which uses a maximum score of 400 to rank schools across Scotland.

Approximately 1,200 primary schools submitted their performance data, although there are over 2,000 primary schools in total in Scotland. Notably, more than one-third of schools did not submit their data for the Acel assessment each year. In this year’s rankings, seven primary schools located in North Lanarkshire made it to the top 50 schools in Scotland.

St Andrew’s Primary School ranked 159th in Scotland with an impressive score of 380. Following closely, Chapelside Primary School secured the 382nd position with a score of 360. Both Tollbrae Primary School and Clarkston Primary School also achieved scores of 360, ranking them 401st and 415th respectively.
