UPDATE: The Windsor Wizards have surged into the state finals after a thrilling 21-14 victory over Holy Family in the Class 3A state tournament semifinals on Saturday, December 6, 2025. This victory at H.J. Dudley Field keeps Windsor’s perfect season intact, now boasting a record of 13-0.
As the final seconds ticked away, the Wizards overcame significant hurdles, including uncharacteristic mistakes that put their championship hopes at risk. In a nail-biting fourth quarter, Windsor displayed resilience, battling back from a 14-7 deficit to clinch a spot in the title game against second-seeded Pomona (12-1).
The game’s turning point came late in the third quarter after Windsor’s star senior running back, Adrian Czyszczon, lost the ball for the first time this season. This fumble allowed Holy Family to score on a 31-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Kaden Hopkin to receiver Nick Leopardi, putting the Tigers ahead.
However, Windsor’s defense, led by senior linebacker Isaiah Cronk, turned the tide. Cronk intercepted a key pass, shifting momentum back to the Wizards with just over two minutes left in the third quarter.
Faced with a challenging 4th-and-25 situation, Windsor received a lifeline when Holy Family was penalized for roughing the kicker. This setback gave Windsor a second chance, which they capitalized on by driving 52 yards in under three minutes to tie the game with a 17-yard touchdown run by quarterback Mason Moore.
With 7:04 remaining, Czyszczon redeemed himself, scoring the decisive touchdown, pushing Windsor ahead 21-14. The Wizards’ defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs, and the offensive line effectively ran out the clock, securing their place in the finals.
The upcoming championship game against Pomona is set for 10 a.m. at Canvas Stadium on the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins. This match presents Windsor with an opportunity to claim their fifth title in program history.
