Zotac Zbox Magnus Mini PC Launches, Challenges Mac Studio Now

BREAKING: The new Zotac Zbox Magnus EN275060TC has just launched, positioning itself as a formidable contender against the Apple Mac Studio. This ultra-compact mini PC, measuring just 210 x 203 x 62.2 mm and weighing approximately 1.4 kilograms, is designed to deliver desktop-class performance in a jacket pocket-sized package.

This powerful device features an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti graphics card, promising capabilities for 4K gaming and demanding creative workloads. With a total volume of only 2.65 liters, the Zbox Magnus is among the smallest systems equipped with a full desktop GPU, challenging traditional desktop setups.

The Magnus’s 20-core architecture includes eight performance cores and twelve efficiency cores, capable of a turbo boost up to 5.2GHz. This setup, combined with 16GB of VRAM, aims to provide users with a powerful computing experience in a highly portable form factor.

While Zotac’s latest entry is ambitious, questions linger about its thermal management and sustained performance due to its compact design. Unlike many pre-built systems, the Zbox Magnus requires users to install their own RAM and storage, supporting up to 96GB of DDR5 memory.

The device boasts dual M.2 slots for SSDs, including one PCIe 5.0 and one PCIe 4.0, enhancing customization options. Although this flexibility comes at a potential cost increase for premium components, it caters to those seeking tailored performance.

Connectivity is robust with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, five USB Type-A ports, dual Ethernet connections, and four display outputs, including HDMI and DisplayPort. The system also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring modern wireless capabilities.

However, the Zbox Magnus does rely on a large 330W external power supply, which could detract from its appeal as a truly portable solution. Priced at around €1,600 (approximately $1,555), it faces stiff competition from larger desktop systems that offer superior cooling and potentially better sustained performance.

Zotac’s approach to the mini PC market is significant, aiming to combine high performance with portability. As this product becomes available, tech enthusiasts will closely monitor its reception and performance benchmarks against established giants like the Mac Studio.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as the market reacts to the launch of the Zotac Zbox Magnus EN275060TC.
