URGENT UPDATE: The viewing and funeral for Philadelphia Highway Patrol Officer Andy Chan are scheduled for next week following his tragic death. Chan passed away last week, nearly seven years after suffering critical injuries in a motorcycle crash.
The first viewing will take place on Monday, December 15, 2023, at the Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Another viewing is set for Tuesday, December 16, 2023, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, running from 8:15 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m.
Officer Chan was not only a dedicated member of the Philadelphia Highway Patrol but also a decorated officer, having received commendation in 2011 for his service. His passing has deeply affected the community, and a yearly fundraiser that was initially planned for his care will now serve as a memorial, taking place this Friday.
