BREAKING: Two men were shot early this Christmas morning at a convenience store in North Philadelphia, just before 5 a.m. The violent incident unfolded on the 3500 block of Germantown Avenue, leaving one victim in critical condition and another injured.
Authorities report that an adult male, suffering a gunshot wound to the chest, is currently in critical condition. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man, who was also injured, self-transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition. The police responded rapidly after receiving calls reporting gunfire, according to NBCPhiladelphia.
The harrowing scene was captured on surveillance footage, which revealed that two suspects in dark clothing arrived in a light-colored sedan. One suspect entered the store while the other fired shots from outside, targeting the victims inside. A total of 11 spent shell casings were found at the scene, and a significant amount of cash was discovered on the store floor, believed to belong to one of the victims.
The motive for this shocking act remains under investigation, with authorities suggesting robbery could be a factor. The suspects fled southbound on Germantown Avenue towards Tioga, and no arrests have been made as of yet.
