BREAKING: Salvatore Maimone, aged 88, has passed away peacefully at Capstone Nursing Home on December 23, 2025. Born on March 26, 1937, in Meri, Messina, Sicily, Maimone’s legacy will be honored with funeral services scheduled for Monday, December 29 in Rotterdam, New York.

Maimone, who immigrated to the United States in 1971 and settled in Schenectady, was a respected mason affiliated with Local 190 in Albany. His contributions to the community extended beyond his profession; he was also a proud member of the Sons of Italy on Hamburg St.

In a touching family narrative, Salvatore married Antonina in 1957, and together they raised a family that includes their sons, Giuseppe and Orazio Maimone, and numerous grandchildren. His wife, Antonina, predeceased him in 2006, leaving a legacy of love and resilience.

The public is invited to pay their respects during a calling hour at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, located at 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 29. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m., leading to interment at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
