URGENT UPDATE: A 32-year-old man from Provo has been arrested and charged with 12 felonies after allegedly attempting to solicit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from an undercover officer posing as an adult male with a teenage nephew. Josue Daniel McBride now faces serious charges, including two counts of enticing a minor and multiple counts of aggravated sexual exploitation.
The arrest occurred on November 10, 2025, after a meticulous investigation led by the Lehi Police Department. Officers had created a profile on the social media platform Reddit, posing as an adult male with a 13-year-old nephew. The undercover officer’s post, which utilized emojis recognized by law enforcement to signal attraction to minors, sparked a direct message from McBride, who allegedly responded with similar references to CSAM.
The shocking conversation escalated quickly. McBride reportedly expressed interest in the “early teens” and asked to see photos of the undercover officer’s nephew. In exchange, he offered to send videos of minors, including explicit images of children aged between 10 and 16 years old. Court documents reveal McBride’s alarming requests for nude photos and sexual details involving the undercover officer and his nephew.
Following the exchange, McBride continued to press for explicit material, even asking to meet in person. His intentions were clear when he stated he wanted to engage in sexual acts with the minor. Detectives were able to identify McBride and arrested him after he exited his workplace, where he is now being held without bail at the Utah County Jail.
