UPDATE: The Napavine boys basketball team has just secured a commanding 90-57 victory over the Morton-White Pass Timberwolves, marking their sixth consecutive win. This impressive performance unfolded at Morton High School on January 6, 2026, as the Tigers showcased their offensive prowess right from the start.
Napavine’s offense was electrifying, scoring at least 21 points in every quarter, demonstrating their dominance and securing their second 90-point game of the season. Senior standout Tyce Vigre led the charge with a game-high 21 points.
In addition to Vigre, five other Tigers made significant contributions, with Hudson Chambers netting 17 points, while both Cal Bullock and Tyler Watson added 13 points each. Layton Griffith and Eric Bullock also chipped in with 12 points each, showcasing a well-rounded team effort.
Despite the loss, Timberwolves head coach Kevin Dunlap praised his team’s effort against a formidable Napavine squad, saying, “I liked our effort. We played way harder than we have. There’s obviously things to fix, but everybody in the gym recognized the effort.”
Timberwolves’ senior Kohen Ingalsbe put forth a valiant effort, scoring 20 points in what Dunlap called his best game of the season. However, foul trouble among four guards hindered the team’s performance. Dunlap expressed hope that this game would instill confidence as they continue their league campaign.
“We want to send a message to the league that we are here to compete,” he added. Other notable scorers for Morton-White Pass included Sebastian Gonzalez with 17 points, and Gabriel Lisowski, Owen Loucks, Logan Mays, and Michael Biacan contributing a combined 20 points.
With this victory, Napavine improves to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Central 2B League. They are set to continue their road trip next week with games against Winlock on January 10 and Toledo on January 12.
Meanwhile, Morton-White Pass, now at 0-7 overall and 0-5 in league play, will aim for their first victory of the season against Coupeville on January 7. Coach Dunlap emphasized the importance of rest and energy for the upcoming game, stating, “I told our guys to get a good night’s rest and come with energy tomorrow.”
As the season progresses, both teams are looking to harness the momentum from this matchup. Stay tuned for updates on their upcoming games and performances!
