Light Up Main Street Ignites Holiday Spirit Despite Rain Forecast

URGENT UPDATE: Despite a forecast predicting up to 2 inches of rain, the highly anticipated Light Up Main Street event in Old Town Newhall will proceed as planned on December 2, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m.. Residents are encouraged to wear rain boots and bring umbrellas to kick off the holiday season in Santa Clarita.

The event begins with the Santa Clarita City Council leading the countdown to illuminate the iconic Christmas tree at 5:30 p.m., transforming Old Town Newhall into a dazzling holiday wonderland. Thousands of lights will create a festive atmosphere, bringing joy to families and friends despite the rain.

While some features of the event, including smores fire pits, the Polar Playground, and snow machines, will be cancelled due to weather conditions, attendees can still enjoy a variety of attractions.
