His mother, Peg Pickar, along with his siblings Christine Beck, Bruce (Amber) Pickar, and Andrew (Kate) Pickar, survive him. He is also remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews, including Joshua (Desiree) Butler and Frances Pickar.
John’s passion for life extended beyond work. He cherished moments spent snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing, especially during fishing openers with friends. His retreat to the deer shack in Finland was a highlight, filled with laughter, saunas, and reflective hours spent waiting for the perfect buck.
An avid collector of old beer cans and memorabilia, John was a proud member of the Beer Can Collectors of America. His passion for collecting mirrored his zest for life, making friends wherever he went.
