URGENT UPDATE: El Paso Community College (EPCC) is celebrating the graduation of 22-year-old Alba Lucía Quintero García, a remarkable international student from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, who has overcome significant challenges to earn her Associate of Arts in Dance. This milestone not only highlights her academic achievement but also her inspiring artistic journey.
Graduation day is here, and Alba stands as a beacon of perseverance. Navigating the complexities of studying abroad, she has made a profound impact on her peers at EPCC. “Dancing means that no matter where I am, I will always have that comfort with me,” Alba stated, reflecting on her lifelong passion for dance.
Alba’s commitment is evident in her rigorous schedule, commuting across the border twice a week for 6:00 a.m. cheer practices. Her determination showcases a relentless work ethic that has earned her leadership roles, including the presidency of the Dance Club and participation in the Speech and Debate Team. This dedication allowed her to compete in collegiate tournaments as far away as San Diego, California.
