Ronald J. Lentsch, a cherished member of the Blaine community, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at the age of 88. Surrounded by his family, including his wife of nearly 70 years, Karen Lentsch, and his daughters Deb and Pattie, Lentsch left behind a legacy filled with love and laughter.
Born into a close-knit family, Ronald was known for his warm spirit and vibrant personality. He is survived by his daughters and their families, including grandchildren Michael (Katie), Geoffrey (Christa), Christopher (Megan), and Moira Morley. He was also a proud great-grandfather to six, including newborn twins, Rowan and Charlotte.
A Lifelong Career in Journalism
Ronald dedicated over four decades to journalism, working at the St. Paul Pioneer Press & Dispatch from the 1950s until the 1990s. His commitment to storytelling and community engagement left a lasting impact on many readers. After retiring, he and Karen enjoyed summers at their lake home, where family gatherings were filled with fishing, pontoon rides, and relaxing evenings on the deck.
When not at the lake, Ronald cherished his time at home, which he shared with Karen for over 64 years. He began his mornings with mall-walking at Northtown Mall, where he made friends and entertained them with his unique songs and humor. Thursdays were reserved for family game nights, often playing Gin and Royal Rummy with his daughters or enjoying meals at local eateries like the Pizza Ranch.
Honoring His Memory
Ronald is remembered not only for his family devotion but also for the joy he brought to those around him. He will be reunited in spirit with his parents, Joe and Ruth, his sister Sharon Opheim, and his granddaughter Rachel.
