UPDATE: Auditions for the beloved musical “Annie” are scheduled for December 13, 2023, at Mineral Area College (MAC) in Farmington, Missouri. Young actors eager to showcase their talents must act quickly, as time is running out!
The auditions will take place at the MAC Tech building, starting at 10 a.m. for performers aged 14 and under and 3 p.m. for those 15 and older. Callbacks are set for December 14 at 6 p.m. at the same location.
All aspiring performers should prepare a 60- to 90-second song and bring their own accompaniment track on a device compatible with a Bluetooth speaker. Note that acapella auditions are not permitted, and video submissions will not be accepted.
Interested candidates will receive an audition preparation bundle via email, which includes character monologues and choreography videos. To ensure the best performance, participants are advised to dress in appropriate dance attire and be ready to present both dance and monologues during auditions.
Roles up for grabs include Annie, Warbucks, Grace Farrell, Miss Hannigan, Rooster, and many ensemble members. This is a unique opportunity to take part in a production directed by the enthusiastic Kaity Conaway, who expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m super excited to get to direct Annie because it’s one of the first movie musicals I remember watching as a kid.”
Rehearsals will occur on weekdays from January 5 to February 25, 2024, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.. Performances are scheduled for February 26-28 at 7 p.m. and March 1 at 3 p.m..
This production promises to deliver a vibrant experience filled with energetic choreography and heartfelt performances. Conaway is already thrilled about the creative direction, having witnessed some impressive choreography from her team. “I always love seeing what Janna (Hagerty) and London (Miscisin) come up with,” she added.
