Boston College Welcomes Notre Dame Transfer Bodie Kahoun

Former Notre Dame linebacker Bodie Kahoun has officially joined the Boston College football team, as announced on social media platform X on Saturday. The Eagles proudly welcomed Kahoun, stating, “Anchoring the Defense.”

Kahoun, a native of Roanoke, Virginia, stands at 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 230 pounds. During his time at Notre Dame, he participated in nine games as a redshirt freshman in 2025, primarily contributing on special teams. In his limited appearances, he recorded one assisted tackle against Purdue on September 20.

In his first year as a true freshman in 2024, Kahoun made three game appearances, marking his college debut against Florida State on November 9. He secured his first solo tackle in a game against Virginia on November 16, and also played in a victory against Army the following week.

Kahoun’s high school career at Patrick Henry High School was distinguished. He received a four-star rating from Rivals, while 247 Sports, On3, and ESPN rated him as a three-star prospect. ESPN recognized him as the No. 27 linebacker in the nation, ranking him as the No. 14 player in Virginia. Rivals placed him at No. 25 among linebackers nationally and No. 7 within his home state.

As a senior, Kahoun served as team captain and earned multiple accolades, including First Team All-Region and All-District linebacker selections. He set a school record with a remarkable 200 tackles, and was named a Class 5A First Team All-State linebacker. His impressive performance earned him the title of Patrick Henry’s Defensive Player of the Year, along with recognition as a finalist for the Dick Butkus Award and a selection to the US Army Bowl as an All-American in 2023.

Kahoun’s signing represents the 19th addition from the transfer portal for Boston College this offseason and the second linebacker to join the program, following the acquisition of former Washington State linebacker Anthony Palano. Notably, the transfer portal will remain open until January 16, 2024, providing additional opportunities for teams to strengthen their rosters.

Kahoun’s arrival at Boston College is anticipated to bolster the Eagles’ defensive lineup as they prepare for the upcoming season. His proven track record and accolades suggest a promising future in the collegiate football program.
