The Tift County Blue Devils (3-6, 0-4 Region 1 6A) are set to conclude their regular season with a home game against the Camden County Wildcats (5-4, 0-4 Region 1 6A) on October 30, 2025, at Brodie Field. The match is scheduled to kick off at 19:30. After a challenging loss to Valdosta, where they fell 48-35, the Blue Devils are determined to finish the season on a positive note.
In their recent match against Valdosta, Tift initially led with scores of 7-0 and then 14-7. However, Valdosta surged ahead and maintained a two-score lead for much of the game. Despite the defeat, head coach Jeff Littleton expressed optimism about the team’s offensive performance. “We had a couple of long drives over 13 plays,” he noted. “When you’re executing, moving the chains, and executing the plays at that rate, it’s really good execution.”
Littleton emphasized the importance of maintaining offensive momentum against a Camden defense that has faced difficulties in region play, despite a strong start to the season. The Wildcats have accumulated impressive sack and tackles-for-loss numbers, totaling 15 and 70, respectively. However, their defensive performance has waned in recent games, with only two sacks recorded in their last four region contests.
“Our offensive line has to hold up against a formidable Camden pass rush,” Littleton stated. “They like to bring some edge pressure with their outside backers and then mix it up with their inside backers. It’s crucial that we control the line of scrimmage.”
Turnovers present another challenge for the Blue Devils. The Wildcats have been successful in forcing turnovers during region games, with five fumbles and an interception. “They’re very athletic on the back end with their secondary and linebackers,” Littleton added. “They get to the ball fast. We need to ensure we are secure with the football during exchanges with the quarterback and running back.”
Although neither team has playoff aspirations at this stage, Littleton is treating this game as if it were a playoff match. “We want to execute and play well in our last game,” he said. “We’re just treating this like a playoff game. Our goal is to go out on a winning note and build some momentum heading into next season.”
As the Blue Devils prepare for this critical matchup, fans will be watching to see if Tift can harness their potential and secure a victory against Camden.
