Community Mourns Loss of David Anthony Gilles at 66

David Anthony Gilles, aged 66, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He died on an unspecified date, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and love. Born on April 27, 1959, in Glendale, California, to parents William and Carol Gilles, David was known for his commitment to both his career and family.

After graduating from Bishop Montgomery High School, David pursued further education at community colleges in Torrance, California, and Pasco, Washington. His journey through life took a significant turn when he married Nancy Erd in 1980. The couple settled in Richland, Washington, where they raised four children: Darlene, Wendy, David, and Heather.

David began his professional career at the Hanford Nuclear Site, starting as a bus driver. He worked diligently, ascending through the ranks to become the Manager of Retrieval Operations at the Tank Farms before retiring. In 2023, David and Nancy relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho, where they enjoyed the home they built together, symbolizing their commitment to each other and their family.

Throughout his life, David was recognized as a tireless provider and caregiver. He was a patient teacher, known for his hard work and dedication. Although he maintained a reserved presence, those close to him appreciated his quick wit and clever sense of humor. Friends and family often noted that if he playfully teased someone, it was a sign of affection.

David is preceded in death by his parents, but he is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, their four children, eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and his brother, William, who is married to Roni.
