Lydia “Lilly” Zepeda passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. Known for her warmth, humor, and generosity, Lilly’s legacy will be cherished by all who knew her. She was born to Antonio and Petra Zepeda, both of whom have since passed. Lilly was a beloved member of a large, close-knit family that she nurtured throughout her life.
Lilly was previously married to the late Robert Jack Dittel. Together, they raised two children: Robert Anthony Dittel (Kelley) and Kimberly Marie Dittel (Brian Nystrom). She was also the mother of Christine Ann Dittel, who preceded her in death. Lilly found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, boasting eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson, each of whom brought happiness into her life.
Family and Community Impact
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Lilly is survived by her brother Edward Zepeda (Evelyn) and loving sisters Minnie and Rebecca. She was preceded in death by numerous siblings, including James, Jim, Elizabeth, Patricia, Anna, Mary, Matilda, Jesse, Emma, Tony, Petra, Dora, and Vera. Lilly’s family was extensive, with many cousins and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Lilly’s community will have the opportunity to pay their respects during a Funeral Mass scheduled for 11:00 AM on December 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in West St. Paul. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, followed by a luncheon. Lilly will be interred at Noon on December 26 at Riverview Cemetery, also located in West St. Paul.

Those who knew Lilly describe her as a person whose spirit and love touched the lives of many. Her humor and kindness left an indelible mark on her family and friends. As they gather to celebrate her life, they remember her as a source of joy and support, a woman whose legacy will continue through the love she shared.
Lilly Zepeda will be deeply missed, but her memory will remain alive in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
