Sabrina Carpenter Takes the Stage as Host on ‘SNL’ This Weekend

The iconic sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live (SNL), returns this evening with a fresh episode featuring Sabrina Carpenter as both host and musical guest. The episode, part of SNL’s 51st season, is scheduled to air live on October 18, 2025, at 23:30 EST on NBC and will also be available for streaming on Peacock.

SNL, created by Lorne Michaels, has become a staple of American television since its debut in 1975. The show celebrated its 50th anniversary earlier this year with a special three-hour event. Throughout its history, SNL has garnered an impressive 84 Emmy Awards, the most of any television program, solidifying its status as one of the greatest shows in television history.

Carpenter, who gained fame through her role in the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, is stepping into the hosting role after previously performing as a musical guest. This will mark her first hosting appearance on SNL. She has made significant strides in her music career, releasing multiple albums, including her latest, Man’s Best Friend, which debuted in August 2025. The album’s lead single, Manchild, quickly gained traction, topping the Billboard charts.

The cast of SNL has evolved over the years, with Season 51 featuring notable performers such as Kenan Thompson, Mikey Day, and Chloe Fineman. New cast members joining this season include Tommy Brennan and Veronika Slowikowska. The show continues to attract a diverse range of talent and maintain its relevance in the ever-changing landscape of comedy.

Carpenter is currently on her Short n’ Sweet Tour, which began last year, showcasing her growth as an artist. The show’s lineup this season has already included high-profile hosts like Bad Bunny and former SNL cast member Amy Poehler, while the musical guests have featured popular artists such as Doja Cat and Role Model.

As SNL continues its legacy, tonight’s episode promises to deliver the humor and entertainment that has made it a beloved institution for generations of viewers.
