Music enthusiasts in Missouri will have the opportunity to enjoy a captivating performance as the Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra (GRVCO) presents its annual Winter Concert titled “Once Upon a December.” The event is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on December 13, 2023, at the Trenton R-IX Performing Arts Center in Trenton, Missouri. Thanks to the support from the Donors Club and anonymous benefactors, admission to the concert is free.
The concert will showcase talent from twelve communities across Missouri, including St. Joseph, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Cameron, and Pattonsburg. Following the performance, attendees will have the chance to meet the musicians in the Trenton High School Commons, fostering a sense of community and connection.
Concert-goers can look forward to a mix of traditional and contemporary holiday music. The orchestra will perform beloved classics such as “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” while the choir will present newer arrangements, including “Festival of Christmas.” The orchestra is under the direction of Raymond Linville, a graduate of Trenton High School, and the choir is led by Linda Arnold.
As a non-profit organization, GRVCO relies on donations to support its activities. Information about the Donors Club will be available at the event, and special collections will benefit the Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation. This initiative not only supports the arts but also contributes to local healthcare.
