Fargo Public Library Unveils New Card Designs for 125th Anniversary

The Fargo Public Library has launched three limited-edition library card designs to commemorate its upcoming 125th anniversary in 2026. These new designs became available on January 2, allowing residents to obtain a unique card while supplies last.

Residents can apply for a new library card featuring one of the newly introduced designs. Current cardholders also have the option to update their existing cards with a sticker showcasing one of the new designs. The library emphasizes the importance of this initiative, which celebrates its long-standing commitment to the community.

The designs were created by local artists who participated in the library’s “Color Our World” Library Card Design Contest during the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge. This contest encouraged creativity and community engagement, drawing submissions from a diverse group of participants.

Winners were selected through a public voting process, highlighting the community’s involvement in the library’s celebrations. The winners include Savannah Wohlers in the age 12 and younger category, Maria Kamrud in the ages 13 to 18 category, and Nikki Nelson in the adults 19 and older category. Their artwork reflects the spirit and vibrancy of the Fargo community.

For those interested in obtaining a new card or learning more about the limited-edition designs, the Fargo Public Library encourages residents to contact the Main Library Circulation Desk at 701-241-1472. This initiative not only marks a significant milestone for the library but also reinforces its role as a cultural hub in Fargo.

As the library approaches this landmark anniversary, it continues to foster a love for reading and creativity among its patrons. The introduction of these new library card designs is a testament to its ongoing commitment to serve the community and celebrate its rich history.
