New Bus Route Launches to Connect La Crosse and Green Bay

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has announced the launch of a new bus route connecting La Crosse to Green Bay. This addition is part of an updated network of state-supported bus services aimed at enhancing transportation options for residents and visitors to both rural and urban communities across Wisconsin.

In collaboration with several transportation partners, including Greyhound, Indian Trails, Jefferson Lines, Lamers Bus, and Wisconsin Transit Lines, WisDOT is expanding its intercity bus routes. These routes link smaller communities to major regional hubs such as Milwaukee, Chicago, and Minneapolis. The newly introduced Route 11 will provide crucial connectivity for those traveling between La Crosse and Green Bay.

Kristina Boardman, Secretary of WisDOT, emphasized the importance of reliable transportation, stating, “Reliable and safe transportation should be available to everyone. The updates to our intercity bus service will ensure continued and enhanced access to long-distance transportation for residents and visitors in communities across our state.”

The revisions to the service aim to provide affordable travel options and create a more robust network for intercity transportation, thereby improving accessibility for underserved areas. The full list of WisDOT-supported intercity bus routes, including schedules and ticketing information, can be found on the official WisDOT website.

This initiative reflects WisDOT’s commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure and promoting connectivity throughout Wisconsin, ultimately benefiting both local and traveling populations. As communities grow and change, such updates are essential in ensuring that transportation keeps pace with the needs of residents and visitors alike.
